  • Analyzing archival documents and oral histories for key themes related to research questions
  • Assisting in the development and execution of study design and data analysis, leading to the discovery of a novel intergovernmental model for shorebird conservation.
  • Collaborating with Eduardo Gallo-Cajiao, PhD (CSU) and Jenny R. Isaacs, PhD (Rutgers) to prepare a manuscript for publication in a high-impact scientific journal.

NYC BIRD ALLIANCE  (formerly NYC Audubon) Jul 2024 – present
Senior Associate, Advocacy

  • Developing and implementing strategic advocacy campaigns to protect New York City’s wild birds and urban biodiversity; led to the renewal of the Green Roof Tax Abatement and the introduction of city-level Lights Out bill Int. 0896.
  • Leading grassroots engagement efforts, including community organizing and partnerships to build a network of advocates and address constituent concerns through the lens of conservation and science.
  • Building and leveraging relationships with key stakeholders, like elected officials, government agencies, coalitions, community leaders, and other non-governmental organizations.
  • Galvanizing board committee on Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Accessibility.

Advocacy and Engagement Associate Jul 2022 – Jul 2024
